Poker Ride

PARTICIPANTS

Participation in the 2008 Poker Ride is open to friends and supporters of the Folsom Police Mounted Unit / Grace Foundation of Northern California partnership.  Minors are welcome to participate with an adult sponsor and signed waiver from a parent or guardian.

Note:    Wearing of equestrian helmets is not mandatory but strongly recommended for      adult riders..

            Helmets are mandatory for participants under 18 years old. 

            There is absolutely NO SMOKING on Grace Foundation Grounds.  

RIDE ROUTE AND DESCRIPTION

The route for the Poker Ride is a marked cross-country course within the property boundaries of the Grace Foundation of Northern California.  Terrain varies from gentle to very steep and rocky.  Time to complete the ride will vary from 1-2 hrs depending on rider and mount conditioning.  This is not a timed event and there are no awards for completing the course with a shorter time.  Within the ride course, rider and mount must stop at 5 check points to receive a playing card for retention and scoring at ride completion.  Rider with the best 5-card poker hand at the end of the ride will be declared the winner of this event.

Ride Entry per individual:                                                                      $40.00

Entry fee and waiver or RSVP must be received by June 7, 2008 at 5PM.  Riders will be required to complete a signed waiver before participating on event day.
